Thanks for your interest in the upcoming Lutheran Singer/Songwriter Showcase at Best Practices for Ministry in Phoenix, Arizona. The goal in this 90-minute workshop is to expose those who attend to LCMS artists, worship leaders, and/or songwriters. Each singer/songwriter present will have at least 8 minutes to share their story & 2 songs. Singer/songwriters not able to attend may submit a 4-minute video. There will be singers and songwriters at various stages of development and styles. This is not a talent show or competition, but a way for us all to share our common passion for glorifying God in our music.
Keep in mind that this showcase is one of hundreds of workshops at this free LCMS event and that even though there will be over 2,000 people attending the conference, there may only be 25-50 people at the showcase. BUT keep in mind that the people who actually show up are the ones who will be the most interested in hearing your music!
Each person in the showcase audience will get a booklet that will have lyrics to all the songs sung as well as your contact information and anything else you want them to have in their hands, limited to a 2-sided sheet of paper (including lyrics) per singer/songwriter. Feel free to bring your CDs (if any) to sell.
Files to send to [email protected] by Jan. 15th:
- Lyrics that will be put on PowerPoint & lyric sheets to be passed out. If you have your songs on PowerPoint, you may send those as well. If you want to share sheet music, please print your own copies or invite people to request music through your contact information.
- Photos of you &/or a CD cover image to be shown on a single PowerPoint slide while you speak and in the booklet handed out.
- Recordings of your songs so that they can be played in the background before and after the workshop. If you are singing to a recording, that needs to be sent ahead of time as well.
Also, be sure to register for Best Practices: www.cclPhoenix.org/bpm.html
Looking forward to meeting you in Phoenix!
